Emotional development and team building for companies

Workshops for work teams in Puerto Vallarta: communication, stress management and conflict resolution. Led by a clinical psychologist trained in systemic family therapy, in English or Spanish, on site or online.

Book via WhatsApp

High turnover, meetings where nobody says what they think, conflicts settled over WhatsApp and never face to face, a team that delivers but without enthusiasm. These are almost always problems of communication and stress management, not of commitment.

What we work on

I design each workshop around what is actually happening in the team, not from a fixed programme. The most requested topics:

  • Communication. Saying the difficult thing without it turning into a conflict, and listening without getting defensive.
  • Stress management. Especially through high season, when the load concentrates into a few months.
  • Conflict resolution. What to do when two people on the team have stopped speaking.
  • Leadership and feedback. How to give a correction that can actually be heard.
  • Mixed teams. Mexican staff and foreign management working together, with two languages and two different understandings of hierarchy.

How the process works

  1. Initial conversation. You tell me what is happening and what you would like to change. No charge.
  2. Brief assessment. Depending on the case, I speak with a few people on the team or use a short instrument. This is what keeps the workshop focused on what is really going on rather than what is assumed.
  3. Proposal. Objective, duration, number of sessions and cost, in writing.
  4. The workshop. On your premises, off site, or online if the team is distributed.
  5. Close and recommendations. What was observed and what is worth sustaining afterward, so it does not end up being just a good afternoon.

What it is not

This is not group therapy. Individual clinical histories are not addressed and no psychological treatment takes place inside the workshop — we work on skills. If someone needs individual attention during the process, they are referred separately and confidentially, and it is never discussed with the company.

It is also not a recreational activity. There may be exercises and laughter, but the objective is that something changes on Monday in how people on the team talk to each other.

Who delivers it

I am a clinical psychologist trained in systemic family therapy — the approach that studies how groups behave, not only individuals. That is what I bring compared with a motivational workshop: the framework to understand why a team keeps repeating the same conflict.

To start

Message me on WhatsApp with two things: how many people, and what is going on. With that I can tell you whether a workshop is what you need, or whether the problem is better solved another way.

Frequently asked questions

How many people can take part?

Workshops work best with 8 to 25 people. Below 8 the group dynamic loses force; above 25 it is worth splitting into sessions so everyone gets to participate. For larger teams we can work by department or by shift.

How long is a session?

It depends on the objective. A single-session workshop usually runs three to four hours. When the goal is a lasting change in how the team communicates, a series of shorter sessions across several weeks works better.

On our premises or off site?

Either works. On company premises is more practical and less expensive; away from the workplace people tend to open up more, especially when the subject touches on internal conflict. We decide based on the objective.

Is this group therapy?

No. It is training and skill development: communication, stress management, conflict resolution, teamwork. Individual clinical histories are not addressed and no psychological treatment happens inside the workshop. If someone needs individual attention, they are referred separately and confidentially.

Can it be delivered in English?

Yes. Workshops can run in English, Spanish, or a mix of both — which is the norm in Vallarta hospitality and real estate teams where Mexican staff and foreign management work side by side.
